Mountain Heritage Trout Waters

The Mountain Heritage Trout Waters Program was established by the NC General Assembly in 2007 as a means to encourage trout fishing as a heritage tourism activity.
Maggie Valley is designated as one of five Mountain Heritage Trout Cities in this pilot program.

Beginning July 1, 2008, residents and non residents will be able to purchase a 3-day, $5.00 fishing license to fish in the designated Mountain Heritage Trout Waters. There are no additional license requirements for fishing in Mountain Heritage Waters. This special 3-day license can be purchased online at www.ncwildlife.org. or by telephone Monday – Friday, 8-5 at 888—248-6834, or stop by the Maggie Valley Visitor Center at 2511 Soco Road, Maggie Valley. 828-926-1207.
