Holiday Cheer in Maggie Valley
Maggie Valley is a beautiful place to live and visit during the holiday season. A drive down Soco Rd. will offer views of storefronts and restaurants adorned in lights as well as 50 pair of hand-painted skis. Where else will you see that? Most excitingly, you may even catch a few snowflakes while you’re here. If you’ll be in The Valley during this frigid and festive time of year, below are a handful of exciting attractions for everyone in the family.
Cataloochee Ski Area
Unlike some popular vacation towns, Maggie Valley never really has an “off-season” due to the allure of Cataloochee Ski Area. Snowboarders and skiers from around the globe visit our town to fly down the slopes and enjoy a lovely day on the mountain. Cataloochee accommodates all skill levels and even offers classes to those who need to learn the basics. Whether you’ve been into snow sports for many years or you’re just getting started, Cataloochee has you covered.
Tube World is located four miles from Cataloochee Ski Area and offers tubing fun for everyone. Maybe you want a break from the slopes or perhaps you crave some snow fun unrelated to the ski area. If you fall in either of those categories, Tube World’s the place for you. Tube World typically opens in mid-December and stays open until sometime in March; however, they may open earlier, weather permitting.
The holidays are a wonderful time of year no matter where you are, but it’s especially magical if you’re in Maggie Valley. You can’t go wrong with picturesque mountains, festive lights and snowy fun. Along with seasonal events and attractions, our restaurants, shops and other establishments will be warm and cozy, waiting to put a smile on your face.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
