Miss Maggie Welcomes you! (On the Cover)
Greetings from Maggie Valley! My name is Miss Maggie. I portray Maggie Mae Setzer for whom the town of Maggie Valley is named (see story on page 45). As the town’s ambassador, I want to personally and cordially welcome you to Maggie Valley!
I encourage you to use this guide to plan the most amazing visit to a most amazing town. A town located in the heart of the gorgeous Smoky Mountains, we are adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park where outdoor adventures and exploring awaits your discovery. After taking some time to explore the GSMNP, take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is also adjacent to Maggie Valley, and offers gorgeous views and holds opportunities for hikes, picnics and some of the most beautiful sunsets ever to behold. Maggie Valley is home to skiing, golf, fishing, hiking, waterfalls, snow tubing, wildlife (including our majestic Elk), hand-made mountain crafts, bluegrass music and clogging and so much more – your adventures await right here.
And when you are ready to slow down a bit, Maggie Valley has some of the most amazing restaurants, shops, family activities, parks, an amazing playground for the littles, Dale’s Wheels Through Time Museum and lodging accommodations to suit every need. The Maggie valley Festival Grounds hosts crafts shows, concerts, car shows, motorcycle rallies, and an amazing Fourth of July fireworks show and more. Maggie Valley’s central location means a quick and easy drive to Waynesville, Asheville, Cherokee and even Gatlinburg.
Maggie Valley is awaiting your first or a return discovery. I sincerely hope you’ll come find all that makes Maggie Valley the special quaint and quiet town within the Smoky Mountains. And when you are here, look for me, too! You can often find me out and about welcoming visitors and visiting with our locals and business owners. While out exploring the area I am ready to share in a photo, a hug and a conversation. You can also follow me on my “Miss Maggie” Facebook page or on InstaGram: @missmaggie_828.
